I was very interested in this brush and tried it out myself as an adult. to give you a fair opinion before spending any money. I have a son and although he is not as young as advertised I see the benefit of this brush. I still think you need a manual brush for gums, cheeks and tongue but for teeth I like these. The bristles are soft and the head is flexible, it moves to cover and clean your teeth. It doesn't have to be aggressive. I've found this particular brush head to fit my Oguard sonic toothbrush, so if you need something more powerful than the manual route. I love it and if I still had to brush my son's teeth I would definitely use this brush and more importantly if he likes it and feels comfortable and confident this is a good choice I would recommend. Please pay attention to HOW your children hold the brush handle. If they squeeze it too hard, they're more likely to brush too hard and damage their gums. This is very important as my son did it when he was 8 years old. This can be corrected by being softer and also with red light therapy which will correct their receding gums. Time is on your side with the gum problem when it needs to be fixed.
