So this is NOT a super powerful blender. If that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. What is it. The perfect little blender for making single-serving smoothies. Works with ice and frozen fruit. I won't do anything extra. It's 10 ounces. and tight compression. For me it's perfect. I use 2 scoops of my protein shake, about 8 ounces of water, some frozen fruit or ice cream, or even just half a fresh banana and I have a great shake to drink at work. I leave the base at work and take the jar and blades home every night to clean at home. Ideal.
