I've never had an air fryer and don't know anyone with one, but I've been curious about them for a while. I did my research and then had to examine all the possible choices on amazon (it seems there are thousands!) I wanted something digital and big enough to handle larger items. I started the carnivore way of eating two months ago, so this thing won't ever see French fries or vegetables. I thought it would be big enough to do a whole chicken, but it's not; no matter. I cut the bird in half, boned it as much as possible, and cut the halves into pieces. Half the chicken that way came to about 2 pounds, perfect for this size fryer. I've cooked both halves and everything came out perfect. I turned the pieces over midway through the cooking cycle. Because some pieces were smaller, I pulled them out before the large breast section. I liked being able to set the time and temperature for this rather than use the pre-set for poultry. My next attempts were beef; I cooked a ribeye and used the pre-set, and it came out perfect. I did a second one a few days later, and perfection again. Last night I put a thick piece of sockeye salmon in there and hit the fish pre-set; again, simply perfect. Actually, it's a bit hard to believe this thing just cooks everything perfectly with little to no intervention. I'm very glad I got it. Easy to clean, too; hardly worth putting in the dishwasher. Fill the drawer with hot water and dish soap, throw in the grate, and let soak while you eat, then wipe, rinse, and dry after. I'm looking forward to more adventures with this baby!
