I consider this purchase one of my worst life decisions. I've been using another brand for over two years. After extensive research into the toxic ingredients in many dog products, including toothpaste, I decided to look for something with fewer or no problematic ingredients. This product was the best I could find. Unfortunately, after less than a month, I stopped torturing my dog. First, my dog (who has no limits on what he puts in his mouth and never turns down anything offered) didn't like it. When I put it on her finger to lick, she refused (smart dog). It was the first time so I was stunned! Second, the paste is very oily. After brushing, my dog would always make a funny face (think "woo"), lick and open his mouth excessively for a few minutes as if trying to get rid of the bad taste, and then run to his food wolf down. She does none of this, a clear sign that something is wrong. The toothpaste also made the toothbrush oily and difficult to clean. Third, unlike my previous toothpaste, which dispensed like toothpaste, this one is thicker, clumpier, and not creamy, so it dispenses slowly and with more pressure. Not impossible to distribute in any way, but not as smooth compared to my latest product. Fourth, to find out why my dog finds this "coconut mint" taste so repulsive despite not even liking the strangest foods/flavors, I did a smell test. It had almost no smell, which I prefer, so kudos (1 star). To get to the bottom of my dog's suffering, I also did a lick test. Tastes like salt and butter. There is no mint at all. I know the main ingredient is coconut oil, which gets thick and lumpy above a certain temperature, but like toothpaste, it also needs to be *creamy*. After all, the product is supposed to "polish and whiten teeth." I haven't noticed any improvement in my dog's teeth after a month of use, but it seems to have fresh breath. But my dog has never had a problem with bad breath, so I guess he's dealt with it well? Excellent, 2 stars .In general, the best way to describe my experience with this product is by not meeting its requirements.I recommend it to anyone who wants to squeeze hard, thick, lumpy coconut oil out of a small tube that doesn't taste or smell like mint, none leaves teeth shiny or whitening, tastes bad but keeps breath fresh (although I can't say with absolute certainty) that this product was responsible for the latter as my dog doesn't have any smell issues).
