I have several adapters and they all work with my MacBooks. However, none of the others worked well with Windows and Linux. This adapter works on everything. The combination of ports makes this the perfect compact docking station. The adapter is compact given the number of ports and is much lighter than you might expect - significantly lighter than the aluminum case adapters I have. The only downside is the plastic case, the plastic feels a little flimsy and soft and cheap and carrying it in my pocket left a lot of scars as my other cables damaged the plastic. On the plus side, this soft and thin plastic adds little to the weight of my bag or scratches other things in my bag (while metal adapters can ring other devices). Considering the price, this is the best adapter I have ever used. Highly recommended.
