I use those standard bike alarms you always see with chrome buttons on the remote. you know them It's almost the same, but it's like an updated version. The remote control looks a little cleaner and fits better with a keychain. It also has a small mounting holster so you can mount it on your handlebars if you want to use the horn function. I don't really need it since my bike has a horn, but it's a good option. I just keep it with my keys and use it as a car alarm remote. The peculiarity of this alarm is that it is very loud. The ears are piercingly loud at maximum volume. Another alarm at 110dB was loud, but this one is at 115dB and as everyone knows the volume doubles every 3dB. So I didn't expect it to be as loud as the first test. The arming and disarming signal is just incredibly loud. That's good, because you can mount it anywhere on your bike, even hide it somewhere, and it'll still be way louder than it needs to be. Sounds like a car alarm or even louder. I use medium volume and it's still a bit loud but it's what you need if someone is trying to steal your bike. The loudest noise is even more intimidating because it will literally hurt your ears trying to pick the lock. The speaker has a mount that can be mounted almost anywhere on the bike frame or under the seat. Really everywhere. I have an electric bike so I installed it with some wires coming from the controller which is partly hidden. It was a bad move because it really messes up the sensitivity setting. I recommend attaching the mount to a frame or something firmly attached to your bike, as even with the finest adjustment, attaching to wires will not do. After I installed it on the frame, it was much more responsive to touch and made a small warning sound. Touch it again and it will turn off for a while. An improvement on this alarm clock over the other is the way the speaker is attached to the bracket. The other simply snaps on so it can be easily removed for charging. It has a screw that makes it difficult for a thief to remove and throw away, but also makes it difficult to remove for charging. What I noticed is that the battery lasts a long time and you can also easily charge it with a USB battery so you don't have to take it out of the holder. Excellent alarm clock. Some nice improvements over the classic version. The other works fine so I'm not sure I recommend upgrading, but if you don't already have a bike alarm, get one. It's a cheap deterrent, even if you're just going to the store for a minute to get something and don't want to lock it. If someone even bumps into your bike, there will be a warning tone and you will hear it immediately. Always lock your bike if possible, but it's definitely better than nothing as a thief can easily steal an unsecured bike in a matter of seconds without anyone noticing. You can set this to anything. Skateboard, scooter, big wheels, whatever. Good product.
