The elasticity of these socks is not particularly strong, although this can be a plus for those who have circulation problems or if you prefer loose socks. I bought these to use on one of our dogs elbows so can't say if they are comfortable for humans; They are soft enough and soft on the elbows. Aside from the elastic stretching quickly, they hold up well to frequent washing, and the cutouts I made for his paws won't wear out. They seem a bit big for a (little) boy, but I'm not an expert on boys' clothing, so take that with a grain of salt.
