Review on πŸ’» Vertical USB 3.1 Front Panel Adapter - USB Type-A to USB 3.0 20Pin Header Connector by Jeff Jones

Simple adapter to solve a unique problem

I don't think many modern motherboards or cases require the option to use this adapter but I have a z390-h with 2 3.0 ports and my new case had a 3.1 socket. So I bought this, plugged it in, plugged in the cable and it solved my unique problem. If you absolutely need another Type-C connector on your motherboard and you have a spare connector for it, then yes, it will come in handy in this situation as well.

Pros
  • **Notice about USB overcurrent limit issue: The power rating of the USB 3.0 port on the motherboard is 4.5W (0.9A x 5V). However, many USB-C devices can draw up to 100W (20A x 5V). This may cause power failure to protect the motherboard and its components. Devices such as iPad Pro and other tablets should not be charged through this port.
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
