Here you will see a lot of feedback from people saying it's a piece of junk and/or they lost most or all of their channels after installation. I even saw a reviewer question the 5 star ratings for this product. Some raise red flags for authenticity so I thought I'd give you my opinion as a satisfied customer. I'm giving 4 stars because my house hasn't been struck by lightning and I probably never will given where I live. This review is all about the performance of the devices in maintaining signal quality. There are 80 possible stations that I can receive in my area. I installed this network filter and checked the signal. I still receive all channels (all 80). So in my case this is a good product and it didn't distort or attenuate my signal enough to cause me to lose channels (assuming I have a good quality antenna). I have no idea if it can protect against flash, nor do I want to find out. If torn, ask for a new one.
