I bought a size medium bucket hat for my 5 year old daughter in 2016 and we are just about ready to upsize. The adjustable strap at the back was very helpful in prolonging the life of this hat. You can buy size M for 3 or 4 years and it will last 2-3 years! We go to the beach twice a year and wear this hat at home too and it keeps its color and shape for 2 years. The brims stay in place and don't sag like other hats we've tried before. My daughter got annoyed that wide hats can't see her and she took them off. I love that this hat is cute, practical and kid friendly so you don't have to fight to keep your hat on. Another feature of this hat that has proven very useful is that it folds up nicely for packing, making it the perfect travel hat. I also have a sunday hat that has a long brim at the back for extra neck protection, but I like this one better for fashion reasons.
