Unlike most computer components, which have a case that protects the power connectors, this board is a bare circuit board, and the pins connect directly to the +12V and +5 -V power lines connected can be easily shorted to ground. To make matters worse, the supplied adhesive pad for fixing the circuit board is completely inadequate. I installed two of these two different rigs and they both came loose. One hit the chassis and shorted out the power supply. The load condition was side mounted with three fans and a Molex connector, no PWM input cable. The cables put minimal stress on the board, just enough to hold loose cables in place (cables don't protrude, no sharp bends, see image). I'll definitely be printing a mounting plate for it and attaching it with something other than the supplied gasket.
