Awesome but odd buckle

Great water pouch. Good size, favorite color and awesome crux system. I have the same system on a different (and huge) camel backpack. I managed to drop off canoes for weekend trips. Even with moderate temperatures over a long weekend alone, 3L did a great job with my dry food, morning tea and drinking water. I've also found that the connection goes straight to the output of my Katadyn Hiker Pro filter. Bonus. If I had one claim (so just one star minus) it's the buckle. To unzip the bottom pocket, you need to undo the strap. To open the top pocket you need to undo the strap, and there are two zippers in this pocket - one on each side. You wonder why that strap is even there. If you think you can lift the top flap of your bag and the zippers just pop open, fine. That makes sense, but why attach the bottom end of the strap in such a way that it interferes with the opening of the lower pocket? Maybe we'll never know. Overall I like it despite the odd strap and premium price.

Pros
  • Hydration pouch
Cons
  • Available in white only
