Review on Tsubaki 40B40FL Finished Sprocket Single by Dennis Goozmer

Very good quality, precise workmanship and perfect fit. But not for chain #40. Although the description says the sprocket is for chain #40, the teeth are too wide and the chain #40 only fits 2/3. I managed to process it appropriately though. In the picture you can see the machining on both sides of the part. The steel is extremely hard so I have to hand smooth the teeth to keep the sharp edges from cutting through the chain. I know for sure my chain is #40 because the machinist checked it. The centrifugal clutch sprocket was not accurate for the #40 chain either. After hitting a few rocks sticking out between the railroad ties, this sprocket on my trolley took a few unexpected hits and didn't bend or deflect in the slightest. So good! But after unboxing I had to install a set screw over the key slot. I am happy with the product but it should have had a set screw over the key.
