I'm impressed. I was looking for a good, fast and inexpensive router to download OpenWRT which is my personal favorite of all custom router firmware. If you're unfamiliar, OpenWRT is very stable and versatile, but it does require some learning. Knowing this, you will not settle for less. The downfall of so many routers is that they are released before their software is 100% stable. Cudy provides an OpenWRT snapshot build from their website and downloading it was an easy task from the UI. Range is excellent. The speed is great. I was also told it was a good size. I set it up as a wireless bridge and it works great. Of course, for advanced users, it supports all the good things of OpenWRT like 802.11s mesh (Batman!), VLAN, VPN, advanced firewall. Rules (based on iptables), port forwarding, QoS (anyone FQCODEL?). I'll probably buy two more of these when I set up my home mesh network. The only drawback is that the antennas are not removable. I don't usually care, but it serves as a router for my live digital mixer. As I travel to different places, I'm afraid that the antennas might get damaged and I can't replace them. This is probably a joke.
