The Omni definitely picks up more in space, more like a hands-free phone, but between Omni (blue side) and cardioid (green side) when testing sound samples. Friends claimed the blue side was clearer, but didn't notice much of a difference in background noise. However, you might notice a difference when you weren't speaking directly into the microphone in green mode, or when it was turned sideways. I've used it for some conference calls, people couldn't tell what I was testing and a friend said out loud today so I cut it down to about 70%. The mute dial is okay, but I wish it was knurled or larger for more precise volume control. A generic mute button would have knocked this out of the park. RGB is a random cycle (you don't see it if you have a microphone array) through colors. There's nothing you can do to control or sync it to anything. The alien leg design is cool and you can tilt or stand the mic upright as you like. This is a steel (metal) construction. Very durable. Overall a solid microphone and a cool design.
