Great for the gym shower. It can get wet, no problem, just put it in your outside pocket so the inside of your gym bag doesn't get wet. The ones I take in the shower. Inside I have the following: full size conditioner, facial cleanser, silicone exfoliating brush, silicone back scrub, leave-in conditioner, face scrub and full size hair brush. (Shampoo and shower gel are provided by the gym). There is another place. It's also great because it has a zipper so if it falls somewhere it won't just pop open. Cons: The suction cup doesn't work on the tiles in my sports shower. I'm sure tile is fairly common for gym showers, so this is probably a common problem. It has a loop for hanging from a hook (if you have one) but my shower doesn't have a hook. I can easily install it on the built-in shower shelf.
