I have a Garmin SE+ and my dog has an Inreach Mini. He's being trained to work with SAR - and the SAR button on the side is key for me. This can be tied perfectly to his harness and stays on when he walks through the undergrowth without a leash. I can track him wherever he is. although it comes back very well when I call, so on rare occasions it doesn't - I know how to find it! I also attach a carabiner to the harness just in case, but so far a month of off-road excursions, tracking undergrowth, and it's never been dropped. IMHO worth the money.
