Very comfortable and accurate thermometer. Highly recommended. When a constant temperature value is reached a beeping sound will let you know that you can check the reading. This takes about a minute or so. This is so much better than my old thermometer which gave a reading after 3 seconds, but the readings were wildly different each time. I've tried many thermometers, including an ear thermometer, which could be uncomfortable. This is actually an excellent thermometer. comfortable and accurate.This comes ready to go with a battery already inside. I do not know what sort of battery it takes, but there is a battery compartment secured with a tiny screw.
