Review on 🌑️ Optimizing Climate Control with Filament Adjustable Temperature Humidity Compatible Solution by Donnell Cursed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly dubious QA, will be updated with

. 3 stars for arrival status, will be updated to performance. Eventually someone cut the tape on the sides of the top of the box and when I pulled it out of the box something inside the main case rumbled. I turned it over and tried to look inside, the circuit board was hanging by the wires. I decided to take a closer look and noticed that the fan connector hangs on the controller board and doesn't plug into the board. Luckily I didn't try to plug it in and turn it on before figuring out what's causing the noise. Decided to take a risk and try to fix it myself. I found that the loose circuit board had a slot in the molded case where I could snap it in place and plugged the fan into an empty connector on the control board. None of the components or solder joints were damaged by incorrect assembly. Tested, seems to work fine. Set it to 70 for some ASAs. I'm trying to dry a thermocouple through the filament port in the acrylic and watch the temperature rise to 80C! I've been playing around with the settings, stopped at 66, the screen shows about 70 +/- on the thermocouple at the bottom of the filament on the spool. I really hope nothing was damaged in shipping and the decision to fix it yourself doesn't come back to bite me. I decided to spend $20 more on a 'new' unit than the two used ones available, but as with the new options, I now think I might have made the wrong choice. Wish Revain offered to keep the defective product at whatever discounted price they wholesale it at and wouldn't mind taking a chance on keeping a potentially damaged device cheap and saving the world from e-waste and wasted shipping and still get a "good" device. I paid but unfortunately they don't and it would most likely be an abuse if they did. My first few spools of filament are drying now and they're back to having a beautiful print like they used to. Unfortunately the spool in my 3kg reel of Polymaker Polylite ASA doesn't look like it will fit in this device. Luckily it's brand new and hopefully doesn't need drying right out of the box.

Pros
  • 3D Printing Filament
Cons
  • . Could have chosen a newer model
