BLUF: Great mount, but I removed the star because the screws weren't exactly what I wanted. Read more below. I bought these because while hanging up our clothes in our newly bought house in the middle of the night all the existing staples collapsed and all the clothes fell off. The old mounts (ClosetMaid 12" mounts) were curved where the flange meets the wall and I have replaced the mounts with this product. One notable difference in the mount design is that a pair of collars (at the point where the brackets are attached) being pushed into these new brackets screwed into the wall) while they weren't in the old brackets the old bracket's flange was flat I believe this was done after some market feedback as ours old mounts flexed here before they failed. A new design with pads rolled into the flange would add extra support to the flange where the mount screws into the wall or increase the maximum bending moment (wave to all our engineers out there ).The closet stand is much stronger and pulls down the shelf even when fully loaded with clothes, much stronger than the previous setup. I I decided to use other screws I bought at a hardware store because I found all the brackets fit the wall studs. I wanted a longer pan head screw that would go a little deeper into the stud.
