A friend of mine recently bought a SmokeBloq and he loved it so I decided to give it a try. I had several different thermometers, including Bluetooth, but I was tired of being close to the smoker to connect. SmokeBloq is a true cloud-connected Wi-Fi thermometer, which is why I liked it. I was able to connect my SmokeBloq without any issues after turning off my 5G WiFi network (SmokeBloq requires a 2.4G network connection). The app provides helpful hints during setup that can be disabled once connected. It has a very clean appearance. I can set high and low temperature alerts, enter notes, and also enter custom names for sensors. Aside from being able to go anywhere and still keep up with what I'm cooking, the best part for me is that the app saves your cooking sessions in the history tab for future reference. This is good for me because there are some dishes that I only cook once or twice a year (like turkey) and I can never remember how long it took to cook them. I will now have a library of past chefs to refer to in the future which should help with my planning. The construction is very solid. It's weatherproof, which is great because I don't have a smoker under the canopy. It would have been nice to have a magnetized base that I could attach to the side of my burner rod, but overall this is my only improvement. Highly recommended!
