When I took the belt out of the box I was excited because the belt was clearly too short. However, this belt is an elastic belt. It's strong but feels like you're wearing gym shorts or something. It holds up your pants and is amazingly comfortable. It's also a fairly durable material and I don't expect it to wear out or warp. In terms of looks and function, it will probably last longer than a leather belt.
