Originally I had an ASUS B350 board before, but I had to return it because it couldn't be posted to my Ryzen 7 3700X without a BIOS update. Since ASUS customer support was a joke and AMD's RMA form was not available, I got this MSI board as a replacement. Although it doesn't have as many features as an ASUS board for the same money, it was compatible with my processor right out of the box. (Make sure you get MSI boards with "MAX" in their name, as they come preinstalled with the Ryzen 3rd Gen BIOS update.) As far as features go, they're pretty basic. However, for someone like me running a used Dell business machine with a Core i5 2500 and no USB 3, this is still a significant upgrade. The board has an aesthetic that will put you to sleep, although I won't be looking at the damn thing while I'm working. It has 12V RGBW. So if that's something you're into, at least you're protected. What I really liked about the board is the ability to customize the fan curve in UEFI. When I first installed my processor, the fan would ramp up and down dramatically at idle at first, which was pretty annoying. Luckily I was able to adjust the fan curve in the UEFI motherboard pretty easily. For the most part the problem is gone. All in all, this is a solid board so far. If you're in my camp and just want a cheap motherboard that will run 3rd gen Ryzen out of the box, then consider this board.
