Review on Avanti Quick Connect Fitting Drinking Reverse by Mike Anderson

I am about to climb Kilimanjaro and have read that water bubbles often freeze. As I perused trip reports, it seemed to me that freezing of the valves was the biggest problem. My thought is to get rid of the valve and possibly solve the freezing problem. This of course creates a new problem: how to prevent water from leaking through the hose? After a long search I found these plugs that fit perfectly on my 3 liter Platypus system. Drinking with a fork is not so convenient, but I think we can handle it. Added bonus: the plug is designed for a drinking water treatment plant, so it might even be sized for my use.
