Review on 4 Way Volleyball Set For Kids And Adults - GoSports Slam X Ultimate Backyard & Beach Game by Brian Hazzard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mostly well made but could use minor improvements

This is a fun cross between four-square and volleyball. I’d seen similar games to this but never played until getting this. It could use a few improvements but in all, it’s a fun game for my volleyball team to play in our free time. I also really like that this has the option of converting to a three-player game instead of being limited to four or more.My biggest complaint is the balls. They feel like cheap indoor volleyballs. They have a glossier surface that gets slippery when wet and the ball has a tendency to "float” when hit. It’s an easy fix if you have an outdoor volleyball already but if not, I would recommend getting a better volleyball that’s made for outdoor use.The pump is very cheap but it works enough to inflate the balls so no complaints there at the moment. In terms of the function of the net, each of the four outer posts is held up by the net (pulling inward on the post) and a single guy wire (pulling outward on the post). This setup makes each section of net a bit unstable. If a ball hits the top of the net, it pushes the net sideways a bit. It would be significantly more stable if each of the outer posts had two guy wires that could pull at diagonals.Setup is relatively quick and easy as long as at least two people are doing it. I imagine it would be difficult to set up alone. Time will tell what the long-term durability looks like but it has held up well through a handful of days of play. All in all, this is a fun game. I definitely recommend getting a better ball and additional guy wires but I love that it has the option to play with 3 or 4+ players.

Pros
  • Court Equipment
Cons
  • May be too competitive for casual play
