First of all, it's not a safe. It's just a box with a combination lock designed to deter the curious. It will do nothing against a determined bidder and the label will remind you before using it to store your bullion bars. This is sold as an under-bed mount, comes with a cord that usually costs extra so you can attach it to a fixed object, and is for students to discourage nosy neighbors. I wish I had had this when I was in college. I already have one in a different file-oriented configuration; The combination locks were easy to install and worked well, so I wanted a different one for larger, horizontally oriented items. This one easily folds up with other things and when you lock it inwards it just looks like a tool case or something. It was also easy to fit locks; they worked great right away. I don't put this box in and out every day so I can't say how well they will hold up, but so far I've accessed my other at least thirty times with no problems. I like tactical black. to plan; it's really subtle, doesn't draw attention to the box. The cable has not been used. I didn't like that it only has a loop inside, but on the other hand, instead of a loop, they made a notch for the cable. Let's see if that was a good idea in the long run or not; I hope I don't have to keep dwelling on that in this case. I would have preferred to have two loops for extra stability. However, the hinge is strong enough to hold the lid open by itself when fully extended. It's a little stiff, doesn't want to fold up easily, but that's on purpose so it holds the lid up when you want it. Lots of space. I can store everything I need here. Love this emergency canister - not fireproof or anything like that, but something to take with you if you have to leave, where to keep spare meds, important papers, etc. It won't survive if you can't take it with you, but it comes in handy when you need to evacuate and gives you a little privacy for your belongings at the shelter or motel. However, I'm torn between this and a vertically oriented one for this use - this one requires both hands for you to carry properly, especially when not empty, while the vertical design is all about a one-handed grip. Another reason I love it is when you do homework or home shows; It gives me a convenient place to keep bills and receipts and things I don't want to get in the wrong hands in a safe place from prying eyes. It fits easily into a laptop, even a large one, and still has room for more; maybe you could fit 3 medium sized laptops in one of them if you had to. Useful device. I don't like keys, like the person who loses the keys but can remember the number code; If you're better with keys, they'll do them too.
