Installed on my 98 XJ Classic which was having electrical problems. I removed and repaired both wiring harnesses in the doors, each had a couple of broken shorts and wires. My passenger side power window had the usual broken grommet at the end of the cable and was locked with a small set of needle locks (nice new tool!), Amazon sells a replacement repair kit which I also installed. When I got to the drivers panel I saw people taking them apart to reset solder joints so I tried that. fails with a bang. I broke a lot of plastic buttons. I also saw a procedure to bypass the lock button on the control panel, but didn't do it. I bought this replacement part, it took quite a long time to install, and all the windows worked 100% again, and the window lock button works too! Thanks very much!
