I bought this book after seeing a scarf made by someone in my knitting group (Yarn Merchant's Scarf). She just had to be with me. There are 25 patterns in the book and stories about each scarf and how they were made. The shawls pictured are beautiful and show the craftsmanship and design skills of knitters from all over the world. The instructions are clear and easy to understand, regardless of your skill level. In addition, at the beginning the book shows the techniques required for knitting different shawls. The book shows triangular, square and rectangular cloths. I enjoyed reading this book to see how different shawls came about, and I can't wait to launch Wool Merchant's Shawl and show it off to my knitting friends. That'
