We prefer barrier sunscreens (those with zinc and titanium oxide) and these sticks are small so we just carry them in backpacks/purses/cars. All barrier sunscreens need to be rubbed into the skin more frequently than chemical ones, but the stick formula needs extra rubbing into the skin. Those with darker skin tones may find that these blocks create a gray haze even when worked into the skin. It also tends to stick to body hair. (Perhaps this is one of the reasons this formulation is sold as a baby pad.) I suggest trying the product before purchasing a multi-pack if this is your first time using a barrier stick. Very happy with the product.
