I am quite delighted with the tablet, in spite of the significant amount of issues that it has. There is also a tablet that runs Android, but I like this one. Worked perfectly with iOS 6, however after upgrading to iOS 7 it became less fluid and would occasionally cause Safari to crash (the transition was gradual). When I was shopping for it, I compared it to the Nexus 7, and I found that I preferred the minicom, particularly because of the materials and the screen's aspect ratio. The Nexus is more affordable and has a more compact form factor. After using my old tablet for some time, I came to the conclusion that what I really wanted was a more portable device that supported 3G and had a longer battery life. My kid plays casual and educational games, which are more than on android and which are better than on android. I use the iPad mini 90% for Internet surfing, occasionally: maps, a calculator, toys, and viewing online videos. I do not find the iPad mini's drawbacks to be a deal breaker for me. I'm considering getting an iPad Air for personal use at some point in the future.
