Looks nice though. in kitchen and dining room

This set looks beautiful, especially with the matching set of containers. When we first received it, the spoon holder was broken off. I sent the kit back and it was promptly replaced; the exchange went smoothly. However, during the week I was wiping down the counter, I accidentally touched the spoon rest with the corner of a sponge, causing it to fly across the counter. It hit my toaster and broke off. I "fixed" this using colored permanent black and red markers and then taped back what was left of the broken piece. Two days later someone else working in the area knocked on it too and it flew over the counter; Luckily he didn't hit anything this time. I don't even keep him near the stove anymore, it's a comfortable place. Rather, I have it on the other side of the kitchen, in a little-used spot; I know it's safe there and we just pick it up and put it on the stove when we need it. Another problem is the salt shaker. When I received the set I washed everything before use and then let the salt and pepper shaker dry completely. They sat in the dryer for over a day before I attempted to fill them. The pepper shaker was and appears to be fine, but the salt continues to collect in the salt shaker. I poured it out, rinsed it and let it drain (both upside down and right side) for a couple of days. Then I filled it half full with rice and let it go back and forth for a few more days to make sure the rice had absorbed all the moisture. Then I poured out the rice, put in some fresh rice, and filled it halfway with salt (just in case it happens; I didn't want to pour another full salt shaker). The salt STILL forms lumps, but mixed with rice I can plug the holes on top and shake to loosen it. This has to be done every time you want to use salt and it's very annoying. Like I said this set looks great with matching canisters but right now I wish I had looked for something else.

Pros
  • Storage and organization
Cons
  • Expensive
