New manufacturer/material won't stay tight

I've had a few of these in the last 5 years or so (I lose things a lot). Looks like they changed the production source as the metal no longer holds its shape. If you put too many bills in it, it will expand and then be useless for anything thinner. The old ones never stretched/opened, they ripped badly after years of use.
