As a dance teacher, I understand that these shoes don't need time to break in. The leather is very soft and the shoe itself is incredibly durable. I really like that the non-slip soles are supplied separately. However, you must appreciate it. I wear size 8 outdoor shoes (American women's shoes), sometimes size 8.5 when I need more room in the toe box. I like that my tap shoes fit like a glove. I ordered 9 pieces and they match the socks perfectly. I am very happy with this shoe. They are a good middle ground between student shoes and professional shoes.
