Review on MP3 player DIGMA Z4 16GB 16 GB, Bluetooth, black/grey by Anastazja Klementyna ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad product, quite normal quality.

As for the sound, this model and all other Chinese do not have a human equalizer, there are only presets. In all such players, the equalizer is apparently implemented at the codec level, and not in hardware, that is, it is not a physical tone control, therefore the signal level cannot physically exceed 0 dB (i. E. jump above units when processing a figure to the DAC), therefore it is impossible add the signal level, but you can only slightly attenuate some of the frequencies (top and middle), simulating the work of the equalizer. That is, it’s impossible to add bass in a human way, and DBB (bass boost) - in all such players - is just a slight attenuation of high frequencies or mids. In Walkman, for example, you can manually add individual frequencies by a few dB, so that you can adjust the normal sound on any headphones. So, if there was a real physical manual equalizer here, and instead of half-screen animation, a normal information line (3 lines) about the track, one could rate 5. And so - only a four. As usual with the Chinese, the track rewinds without sound. The radio catches mediocre. Where the Walkman NWZ-E453 only slightly rustled, this one already hisses and does not catch. Walkman fell silent only in the elevator, this is - already almost the entire entrance is silent. There is a recording from the radio, in WAV and MP3 formats, from 64 to 192 kb / s, but the recording turns on with a very long delay, about 6-8 seconds. when auto-search, there are a lot of false stations (empty, with interference), and a working display gives strong interference to the receiver. I also amused the countdown when the Power button was pressed. When you turn off, when you hold the button, a countdown to 3x appears on the screen, which must be sustained. Never seen this anywhere. another moment, at the first attempt to upload music to the built-in memory, the speed was extremely low, about 1-2MB / s, and constantly falling. After formatting in the player itself (through the menu), everything worked quickly. After - everything is stable.

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact. There is a clothespin, it clings to clothes, pockets, a collar without any problems, you can even fasten it on shorts, it will not interfere at all. The declared time of the battery holds, I deliberately did not notice it, but when playing mp3 320kb / s in half with m4a (variable bitrate), I worked overnight (6 hours), then during the day (9 hours) and it was enough to drive for a couple of days (on the way to work and home), the only thing is that the charge divisions do not quite evenly disappear. Plays most of the required formats, mp3, m4a, wav, wma, flac, ape, ogg. There is a radio recording. There are signs of the beginnings of a real player: the ability to open a list of files by category (artist, album, genre), open all files in one list, or open by folder. You can open a general list of all files that are and turn on the "random" mode to randomly play everything that is. Remembers the playback position after the exit, as well as when viewing folders, automatically jumps to the last place visited last time, which simplifies the search. Sound . Well, the usual sound, a simple line output. Sounds good with normal headphones. There is no noise, no hiss, no distortion, the volume is adjusted quite smoothly, without a step between 0 and 1, as it sometimes happens.
Cons
  • The Chinese would not be Chinese if, according to tradition, they had not stuffed unnecessary trinkets. The manufacturer has laid down completely stupid functions: a reader, viewing photos and videos. On such a small and grainy and low-quality display, even the thumbnail of the album cover on the full screen is not readable at all, not like a photo or video. The only thing is that the text reader can be used for notes (addresses, phone numbers, recipes, etc. notes). Also on the playback screen, half the screen is occupied by stupid color music in the form of an imitation of a spectrum analyzer. But there is no normal line with information about the artist and a progress bar. There is no quick exit with one button to the general menu, it is necessary to select from any mode by repeatedly pressing the button back.
