Review on Inverter Upgraded Approval Controller Emergency by Jairo Cunha

DO NOT use regular car battery

I have a trailer that I didn't want to attach a generator to but wanted to be able to run some electrical appliances when dry camping. So I bought lithium batteries (Revain has some great ones) and four solar panels on the roof to charge the batteries. Then I connected this device to the batteries and lengthened the extension cord to the devices. I used a heavy 12 gauge extension for this. A little comment. This device draws a lot of current (90 to 120 amps from a 12 volt battery). This quickly discharges a normal car battery and has a negative effect on the long service life of a car battery. You need a deep cycle battery designed for this type of use. Although this can be used in a car you will probably want the engine running and charging when using this. Please see the battery types that must be used with the inverter. This can save you a lot of trouble. Now that the inverter itself is well made, metal in the case as it dissipates heat better and high power inverters generate a lot of heat when using their rated power. away from combustible materials and in a dry place. For a quick diagnosis, you need to be able to see the gauge on top of the device. Ki I installed mine in a large storage area next to the batteries on the wall so I can see the meter when I open the storage area. Because this device can draw so much current, the cable included in the kit will ONLY fit the length already provided! If you need a longer cable, follow the instructions in the manual and buy a larger gauge wire! You can find pre-terminated cables at Revain and auto parts stores. As you increase the cable length, you increase the resistance, which actually reduces the voltage available to your inverter and decreases the run time. Because of this, as you lengthen the run, increase the cable size. The main problem with devices such as AC devices is that they have a very high starting current, which then drops to a reasonable value during operation. This device features a soft start that allows you to use a more powerful boot device with soft start technology that limits the initial current draw. This is a great feature! To do this, you must switch off the inverter before connecting and switching on the device. This is covered in the manual, which is actually well done. Speaking of tours, this is probably one of the best I've seen. They are very good at that. The remote control is good but its length is limited. Also, there is NO setting for battery type, so DO NOT trust the meter unless you are using an AGM or deep cycle lead-acid battery. Lithium batteries work well and then discharge as they tend to provide a constant voltage until discharged, while lead-acid batteries drop in voltage as they become discharged. Because of this, you will never get full amp-hour performance from a lead-acid battery while you would from a lithium battery. Remember that regardless of whether the device has two or more outlets, the TOTAL power this device is capable of is 1500W! I am very satisfied with this device and can recommend it.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
