It is quite small and not suitable for a child. The instructions were a bit tricky but if you can assemble an Ikea you can probably handle it. It took me about four evenings to get ready. The material is pretty soft (a few pieces broke) but there are spares that I haven't used. A drop of super glue was enough. The stand that comes out of the music box appears to be deformed or bent, so the movement isn't entirely smooth, but once assembled it works. In general, I rate it as a very pleasant project. A good gift for people who love models.
