Review on Spira Womens CloudWalker White Pewter by Christina Snyder

No springing, stiff shoes, ball of foot pain

I have an old pair of Spira running shoes and love them. I literally exhausted them: now they are cut off. I decided to buy a replacement, but lately I've been walking more than running due to an injury. I decided to try Spira Walker. A relative has a pair of Spira hiking boots that look like "hiking shoes" (a bit "dumb crap" if you get my meaning). I asked to try on her shoes. I put on their shoes and the comfort and cushioning was just a dream come true. I knew I wanted that kind of cushioning and comfort without the old lady look. When I saw that this shoe was listed as a hiking shoe but with a sneaker aesthetic, I was so excited. When my new shoes arrived I was so sad because my old "worn out" shoes still have more "compliance" and cushioning than new shoes, especially in the foot area. These new shoes had fairly springy heels, but the area under the balls of my feet didn't move, flex, or absorb impact. In addition, the supinator was missing. I was also shocked at how heavy and clunky they seemed. They were a lot heavier than my running shoes but with a lot less comfort. I could handle the weight if they were very comfortable and cushioned my feet. However, they clearly felt uncomfortable. I returned them. There were a few positive aspects that deserve to be mentioned. The shoes are really very beautiful and the original quality was excellent. The length, width and toe area were as expected and true to size. The lacing process was easy and made for an excellent fit on the vamp. The recess in the back of the shoe to accommodate the Achilles tendon was a good size and perfectly padded. The return process was very easy and my money was refunded quickly. Overall I was happy with the seller but not with this particular Spira shoe. There isn't a Spira retailer near us, so I can't just try on a few different styles until I find the right shoes. While my previous experience with the Spria has given me the perfect shoe size, it's not the comfort or support I expected or needed.
