Review on Heavy-Duty Clear Trash Bags, 95-96 Gallon Capacity, 1.5 Mil Thickness, 61 X 68 Inches, Pack Of 50 By Plasticplace by James Ortega

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good fit and strength, plus how to work with folded bags

First, for those of you who don’t like how they arrive all folded-up in a box and not on a roll, I have a suggestion. Open the box just on the skinny end and then pull from the middle of the pile - they will kind of dispense "tissue style”. Problem solved? See photos. (I think they also sell bags on a roll, but maybe not in this quantity of 25.)At 2.7 mil, they are good strength, stronger even than a "heavy duty” bin bag from a major manufacturer like Hefty, but not as strong as say a construction debris bag. There are some bags out there with only 1.5 mil — I don’t see how those are viable, at least as a bin liner.I have a Toter 48 gallon rollout bin so if it helps you can get a sense for fit from the photos. You can see that even with the bin loaded there is still overlap at the top and the bag has enough slack to line the bin walls without cutting corners and reducing effective capacity. That said, I can’t get a band to work very well on the top outside of the bin to hold the bag in place. Not a huge deal for me, though when these get used up I may opt for the 50” x 60” version.EDIT: 5+ mos later, I've gone through the entire box and about to order more (50 count this time - exact same size the 50x60 doesn't fit my Toter 48 as well.). Not a single bag was defective. I see people complaining here about the smell. I notice no or little smell, though I'd probably expect SOME outgassing from any industrial or even larger mainstream bag.

Pros
  • Good product
Cons
  • The bags may not be as durable as advertised
