My large home grinder I bought at the hardware store is over ten years old and still works like new. I clean it regularly and have never used anything other than this type of oil. I've just bought my second bottle as I've finally used up my first bottle recently. I attribute the use of this oil to the continued good performance of my grinder. As others have said, this oil is clear and odorless. About every time my trash can fills up, I run the shredder in reverse and squeeze a thin stream down the length of the paper feed hole while the machine is running, for about 30 seconds. Excess oil is dripped onto a full paper container and then transferred to a large rubbish bag. A quick rub over it to deal with small drips and I'm ready for another round of happy sanding.
