Yes, you read that correctly. I feed many wild animals. The squirrels gnawed everything, I needed something new. I saw this while looking for a dog harness and thought it was cheap enough to try wire for hanging bird feeders. WORKS PERFECTLY! The squirrels tried to chew off the top of the branch, piercing the plastic. Last time I filled I saw that they were gnawing on the feeder just above the hook - they took the lid off and then got to the steel cable. So far, so good. If it rusts and I have to replace it, it will still be worth it. I've already bought a 2nd and am planning a 3rd. I would use it to tie my dogs down for short periods but expect the ends to rust. I would never tie my dogs to anything for more than a short time so this would be perfect for me.
