That was the price of a gear and would have been perfect for many purposes. For example if I was making a giant kerplank and needed sticks to hold the balls until you hit the wrong one that would be awesome. Unfortunately my project involves bending dowels (without first soaking them in hot water) and they are totally unsuitable for this purpose. I first bought a few dowel sizes in a stationary store for test purposes and then placed an online bulk order with them. I assumed they would work at an event since they were the same size and I did not test this actual product before going to the event they were to be used at. When we started the project, the dowels ripped immediately. The wood used is much softer than the ones I've bought elsewhere and they were completely unusable, causing a big problem with the project. :(. They all arrived and were in good condition etc. If you don't expect solid wood strength from them - you just want smooth, straight, even sticks - this is good value for money.
