My sleep has gotten worse and worse over the past few months. In the end I couldn't take it anymore and asked the doctor for advice. She wanted me to try non-drug methods before prescribing anything to help me sleep. I agreed because the last time I took sleeping pills the daytime hangover was worse than the fatigue from just not getting any sleep. She recommended trying a few apps to put your mind in a meditative state to help you fall asleep, not just to help you stay awake. At this point, I was willing to try anything to close my eyes properly. The first night I tried the app, it helped. According to my fitness monitor, I fell asleep easily and slept more through the night. The only problem was that the headphones hurt my ears. I sleep on my side and my ears hurt trying to sleep with my ear against the pillow. I told my husband that I would find more comfortable sleep headphones. He told me not to go crazy and not be shy to buy what I think I need. I had a pair of sleep mask headphones in my shopping cart before I started reading reviews that said the controls were on the side of the head and didn't work as a side sleeper for the reviewer. I took the advice and found her. I'm sooooo glad I did! They arrived on Wednesday. I charged it immediately as instructed. That night I used it to listen to my application. First I had to place the speakers where I could hear. small detail. They worked great! I turn them on, listen to my meditation, wake up the next morning and turn them off. I only wanted headphones, but a sleep mask helps too. My coffee pot light, which comes on at 4:45 am every morning, no longer wakes me up. Because the strap is adjustable, I can barely let the mask touch my face. I don't sweat when I wear them. The only night I've had so far I overtightened the mask. As soon as I loosened it, it immediately cooled down. I've tried sleeping with masks in the past but they put too much pressure on my eyes. It's not like this! Now a note on the battery. I know it says 8+ hours of use. I'm not sure what they mean. 8+ hours of music or what's actually going on? 8+ hours connected to the device? I'm not sure, but I charged it fully as per the instructions. It was Wednesday, the day I received them. I didn't have to charge them until Friday next week (because they turned themselves off). Of course I turned them off for the first couple of nights as soon as I woke up and finished the story, but for a week I left them on and connected to the phone all night. For me that means charging about once a week. I had wireless headphones that I used while walking and had to charge them every third day. I think the battery life surprised and impressed me! I hope it stays that way as long as I use them. In summary, these headphones/sleep mask have been a great addition to my attempt to come off medication so I can sleep naturally. I absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants to listen to relaxing music all night or do bedtime meditation or whatever else you want to listen to without disturbing someone sharing the bed with you. Great price for a great product!
