Review on BESTEK Gooseneck Holder IPhone Galaxy by Tina Pagan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall thoughtful design.

I looked at the negative reviews on this and was surprised to see that it was mainly because the thing is TOO POWERFUL. For real?! It just goes to show that you can't please everyone. The clip has to be strong, it has to be strong, it has to be able to support a relatively large weight and unusual angles. For example, I appreciate the strength of the clamp. Just use common sense where it is. The clip also has some foam protectors to protect things from scratches. and even has a cloth material on the clip to further protect things from scratches. The arm is also very strong, it bends but still needs to be strong enough to hold the phone. I for one appreciate that once I move it into position it stays put! I'm not sure if a gooseneck is really ideal for a car. I think it's more for tables, bedside tables, etc. Folks wanting to fit a 2ft gooseneck into small car frames, well I just don't think it's ideal. Hence the supplied bracket on the suction connection. and I've never had much success with suction cup window mounts, so I can't comment on that either. I do not like her. They never stay at my windows. I have used other stronger car mounts. I have one that uses a CD slot and fits perfectly in my car. I have another one that fits in a cup holder and works great too. As for this holder, I use it at my desk and it works great. My main concern was whether the phone holder portion would extend far enough and clamp tightly enough to hold my Samsung Note 3, which is quite large. I'm happy to say that these are MORE than pens. Even with my Otter case it holds up well. The instructions say it opens 90mm (3-1/2 inches). But it easily opens to 3-3/4 and can even stretch up to 4 inches if needed and still has a good grip on everything. The "rubberized" handles inside add stability to anything it's holding. Great design. This device is strong because it has to be. The clip is not for potato chip bags. This is to keep the phone up to 2 feet away. It is designed and effective. The gooseneck is flexible yet strong and strong. Sometimes it takes two hands to get the right curve. It's designed that way. The gooseneck of the kit is a mixture of plastic and metal. I know metal lasts a lifetime, but I'm not sure about plastic. It appears to be made as you would expect without having anything as heavy as armor. I can't talk to the window brace, but it all appears to be pretty heavy plastic. For a desktop phone holder that can be used at any angle I think this is perfect.
