I used to use an Aqamaxx protein skimmer on a 155 gallon front tank and had great results. So I decided to buy this product for my Cad Lights 60 Gal Cube Emerald Trigger Sump Placement. The product came with all its parts and was professionally packaged. The overflow pipe broke off during transport, but can easily be repaired with superglue. First, the skimmer was filled with Skimmate for the first two weeks. This problem is easy to solve. Keep a bucket handy and empty the wet skimmer mat each time the upper chamber fills up. Thoroughly remove the wet skimmat until the skimmat is dry. Problem solved! Your skimmer should work great using this method and is much easier than the 20% water change recommended by the company as an alternative. Plus, this skimmer is ridiculously quiet. Thumbs up!
