Review on 🌀 BLACK+DECKER BCF5211R Ceiling Fan, 52 inch, Brown: Efficient and Stylish Cooling Solution for Your Space by Chris Byers

Like all fans, this 5-blade fan requires some assembly, but the integrated rotor design makes assembly of the blades a bit more difficult than fans with exposed blades. The blades have a dark red finish on one side and a light pinewood finish on the other. You can choose what you prefer when installing the blades - don't change your mind later as it will be a lot of work to flip them over. You can flush mount the fan for low ceilings or use a short extension for high or sloping ceilings. An additional extension cord can be purchased separately. The fan went into the low ceiling bedroom so I had to flush mount it. To do this, mount the base plate on the ceiling. The base has two screws that act as a bayonet mount for the fan base, so you'll need someone to hold the fan in place, make the electrical connection, insert the wires, and then slide the fan into position and screw onto the mounting plate. Once it is installed and secured, attach it to the mounting plate with two additional screws. This is a very poor design, especially compared to the Hampton Bay fan I removed which had a very smart strong catch on the mounting plate. that you can temporarily hang the fanbase on the loop. This means that the electrical connection can be made without outside help. Attaching and removing the Hampton Bay fan was also extremely easy, while the bayonet system used in this B&D was difficult to align and lock. This would have been a lot easier if I had used an extension cord, although I would still need an assistant. The board works fine. The fan requires two small dimmable bulbs with a regular screw base (I think it's called the E11). The ones I've installed should be dimmable, but they flicker at all but the highest settings. I wish B&D had included the bulbs so I didn't have to search for compatible ones. Nice fan but could be easier to install and should definitely come with bulbs.
