Our only cat and my husband have a conflicted relationship due to his scratching habit. Every time he was unhappy, he scratched our carpets. At the recommendation of a behaviorist, we looked for a different rug. It wasn't recommended but I like the size and gave it a try. Mel ONLY scratches it and enjoys it. Our other cat loves it too. This put an end to my husband's frustrations when he tried to divert his attention. We use this in conjunction with Reconciliation to reduce his general anxiety but are amazed at the results we've seen.
