We bought these for our Halloween tree in the garden and they have held up well over the past month. We wrapped the battery case in plastic to make it more waterproof - I don't know why they are advertised for outdoor use when the case isn't waterproof. It's a hassle to walk to a tree to turn them on and off, so we didn't use them for the lights. However, a few times they look amazing and give the wood a nice spooky orange glow. Pumpkins are beautiful to look at, they just look more menacing in a tree. This is definitely a case where you get what you pay for, but they work and look good enough for Halloween.
