Last year, my parents installed a new counter-top in their kitchen, and for the past few months my younger siblings and I have been.less than delicate with it. We tried our best to avoid scratches, but we're a big family who eat big meals, and when you're getting ready for Thanksgiving or hosting a birthday party, well, accidents happen. Finally I decided to surprise my mom by buying her a set of these mats, and we all agree they have helped tremendously. Instead of trying to load seven or eight plates onto a small plexiglass square like we used to, we've been able to load up these mats with all ceramic plates and glasses while we get ready for dinnertime. We've splashed all manner of food, liquid, and other debris on them and the mat has held up great so far; no scratches in sight and no "slip-and-slide" while we clean up around the sink. We've had them for about a month now and we haven't had any complaints with them yet, despite our family's best (or should I say worst?) efforts.
