I've been on an endless search for headphones that I can't run out of after a while. I listen to music/podcasts several hours a day (6+) in the office and have tried many headphones, mostly because one of the channels is cut off so you have to bend the cable like that to make a connection. . I'm far from being rude with headphones - they don't fold up in my bag or anything, they just lie on my desk when not in my ears. Needless to say it was a frustrating experience. In the end, I decided I wanted the headphones with interchangeable cords so I could swap out the cords when they started to fail so I didn't have to buy a whole new set. I did a little research and settled on these as they were cheap, had decent reviews, and had detachable/replaceable cables. The sound quality was good and they isolated outside noise well. These are also my first headphones to have a cord that wraps over and around the ear, and while they took me a while to get used to, they were comfortable to wear over long periods of time. I mainly used them at work so I usually wore them an average of 5 hours a day. The problems started about 2.5 months after purchase. At times the audio seemed a bit distorted and over time I realized that if my head was turned enough to allow the cable to rotate inside the earbud (the cable connected to the earbud can it but free). rotate so you can rotate the earpiece). It got worse and worse over the next few weeks. As far as I could tell, there wasn't a "best spot" where the contact between the cable and the earbud worked. At this point, my right channel is regularly dropping out and I have to constantly play with the connection to make it work, and the left channel started doing the same. I considered replacing the cable (that's why I ended up getting them) and found that the cost of the cable was more than half the cost of replacing the entire cable entirely with another pair. Since I don't want to buy a new cable every 3 months (assuming others have the same lifespan), I'm not interested. Also, since I can't tell if the issue is with the cable or the headphones, I don't want to risk it, so I guess I'll have to keep looking for a decent pair of headphones.
