Review on EUASOO 8-in-1 USB C Hub with HDMI, USB 3.0, SD/TF Card Reader, and PD Charging for MacBook Pro and Type C Devices by Andy Edwards

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good USB-C peripheral hub with some caveats.

I bought this USB-C hub to dock my Lenovo Duet Chromebook with a desktop monitor, SD/MicroSD card reader, flash drive port, and PD charger , and it does everything and does it well except connect to my monitor part. This adapter does not support monitor resolutions higher than 720p on my Lenovo Duet Chromebook. To be honest, if I had done more research before purchasing this adapter I would have known that the Lenovo Duet has known issues with connecting higher resolution monitors via HDMI unless using a DisplayPort enabled hub . This hub doesn't support DisplayPort, so my monitor gets stuck at 720p. That means this hub should work very well for me as a travel adapter, but not as a desktop dock when I'm at home. However, I have found several USB-C adapters with "DisplayPort" capability that support higher resolutions. monitors via HDMI. I bought MoKIN Docking Station USB C Adapter Dual HDMI 9 in 1 Triple Display Multiport Adapter Dongle with 2 HDMI 4K DisplayPort 3 USB 100W PD SD/TF Card Reader for Macbook Pro Laptops Air Type C" (available here at Revain) and it works very, very well for me. That doesn't mean it's a bad USB-C adapter. It just doesn't work for me. Pros: * Good travel adapter. Fairly compact. * Supports PD pass-through charging (you provide PD charger and cable)* 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port* 1 SD card port, one MicroSD card port* 1 HDMI port – May only run at 720p depending on your laptop/smartphone/Chromebook. Cons:* No Ethernet connection (which might not be a big deal in a household with WiFi, but sometimes it's useful to have one)* The HDMI connector doesn't have an external DisplayPort interface, so some devices are more external in resolution Monitor limited to 720p.* Occasionally heats up.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
